submissions are open for the 2020-2021 edition.
this year's theme is "Method and Madness."

submission guidelines

  • Anyone who is currently enrolled as a student in the Upper School at Princeton Day School is eligible to submit
  • All grade levels are welcome to submit work in the following categories
  • Writing
  • Artwork including but not limited to drawing, painting, photography, woodworking, ceramics, and architecture
  • Videography
  • Performing arts including, but not limited to, music, dance, and theater; music may be submitted as either a recording or video
  • There are no word limits. Woohoo!
  • You do not need to be a member of the cymbals staff to submit
  • Work may be created both inside and outside of school and does not have to be from a humanities or arts class
  • Eligible submissions are not dependent on the submission month and may be created at any point during your PDS career
  • There are no submission limits; however, cymbals will not choose to publish more than five pieces from any one student over a school year
  • Each submission is evaluated in an open forum during cymbals meetings; each submission is evaluated without knowing the name of the artist/writer involved
