Trampoline

Camille Scordis '21

Wrapped in the warm June air

Slowly swaying on the stretchy sea

                                                                                                           up into the trees

                                                                                                   up

Breathe out bubblegum and watch the bubbles bounce up

toss it into the dusky expanse

Roll your emotions idly into a ball and

                                                bobs

Let life feel lighter as the ball      through the air

Flirt with Orion as he strides across the sky

And blow him a kiss when he casts

                                                          his

                                                              celestial

                                                                            number

                                                                                          down

                    soar up

Let your soul          into the wide, midnight eyes of the Milky Way

Tumble

         back

into your body like a tear coursing down the universe

Feel reality warp and tilt against your back
